About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to ensure the organization's adherence to a wide range of regulatory obligations. The CCO will be responsible for monitoring and updating operational policies and procedures to align with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as developing and maintaining a comprehensive compliance program. This includes creating a culture of compliance through training, communication, and enforcement, and acting as a liaison for compliance-related issues. The successful candidate will also be tasked with integrating compliance into property management, overseeing the accuracy of external reporting, and regularly reporting to the CEO on compliance and regulatory matters. Applicants for the CCO position at the company must have a strong legal background, with a minimum of 4 years' legal experience and a preference for those with at least 10 years in law or compliance-related management. The role requires a candidate with a law degree and admission to the New York State Bar, with a focus on complex organizational structures and regulatory oversight. Key competencies for the role include integrity, superb communication, partnership and collaboration, creative problem-solving, strategic vision, and a goal-oriented approach. The CCO will be expected to have a proven track record of making sound decisions, establishing priorities, and successfully managing multiple assignments.
