As a Security Officer - Retail Access Control in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more .

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a leading retail location, you will be responsible for monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a welcoming environment for all visitors and staff. Your presence and engagement will support loss prevention efforts, contribute to access control, and foster a sense of trust within the community. You will be expected to deliver exceptional customer service, respond to various situations with professionalism, and communicate clearly with both team members and the public. Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support a secure environment.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
• Observe and report any suspicious behavior, hazards, or unusual activity within the location to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist visitors, customers, and/or employees by providing information and guidance as needed.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and/or any security-related events encountered during patrols.
• Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and site personnel to support a positive and secure experience for everyone at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Possession of a valid guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
• Possession of a state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
