Challenging Projects

As a Senior Power BI Developer, you’ll be the primary visualization lead on strategic data initiatives supporting the Marine Corps and other Department of Defense partners. Your dashboards and data models will directly inform operational planning, resourcing, and readiness across multiple echelons—driving visibility at the AO, O-6, and GO/SES levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of scalable Power BI solutions, including role-based dashboards, paginated reports, and embedded analytics.
• Translate user requirements and client vision into database improvements for enhanced data correlation and visualization
• Synthesize multiple disparate data streams from USMC operational units and partnering agencies into interactive and actionable visualization
• Design and implement robust data models using DAX and Power Query.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data sources across secure networks, ensuring alignment with IL5/IL6 compliance standards.
• Collaborate closely with functional and technical teams to enhance data accessibility and fidelity across the enterprise.
• Mentor junior analysts and provide expert technical guidance to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Act as a key liaison between JCTM and USMC leadership to ensure timely delivery of data products.
• Ensure all analytics outputs align with DoD cybersecurity requirements, data governance standards, and STIGs.

State-of-the-Art Technology

Harness a full Microsoft and Azure ecosystem—Power BI, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Cognitive Services—within a secure, mission-driven environment.

New Skills

Work side-by-side with senior data strategists, analysts, and mission partners across the USMC and DoD. Build domain knowledge in readiness metrics, command-level data ecosystems, and defense-specific tools such as eDST and DRRS.

You Have

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
• 6+ years of experience in Power BI development, including:
  • Advanced data modeling, DAX, and Power Query
  • Paginated reporting and role-based visualization
• Expertise in data integration (Azure Data Factory, SSIS), ETL, and data governance
• Experience working in IL5/IL6 environments and familiarity with DoD compliance frameworks
• Proven ability to communicate complex data insights to senior-level military audiences

Nice to Haves

• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
• ITIL, PMP, or other project management credentials
• DISA Cyber Awareness or DoD 8570 certifications (e.g., Security+)
• Prior experience with Marine Corps networks, data workflows, and systems (eDST, DRRS, etc.)

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. TS/SCI clearance is required.
