Travel Nurse RN - PACU/Recovery at Ascension summary:

A Travel Nurse Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) provides critical nursing care to patients recovering immediately after surgery or procedures. They follow strict aseptic techniques according to professional perioperative nursing standards, evaluate patient responses, manage pain, and anticipate case-specific needs based on medical knowledge. Travel Nurses work full-time on 8-13 week assignments across various locations, benefitting from health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

• Weekly Travel Rate up to $1,680 - $2,114
• Department:   Associate Travel Program - PACU
• Schedule:   Multiple shifts available, 40 hours per week
• Hospital:   Multiple Ascension acute care hospitals
• Location:   Local and national travel options are available depending on need.

This position is a permanent, full time position made up of 8-13 week assignments - not a short term option or temporary contract. Ability to extend as needed. Benefited positions available, rate changes will apply.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care for anesthetized patients in the immediate post-operative or
post-procedural period.

• Follow aseptic sterile technique according to Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses / American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses (AORN/ASPAN) standards.
• Evaluate patient's responses to treatments and interventions.
• Manage patient's pain.
• Anticipate case-specific needs based on knowledge of procedure(s) performed and pathophysiology.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Required Credential(s):

• Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• One or more of the following:
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Preferred Credential(s):

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• One year of  recent experience in PACU strongly preferred.
• Local and national travel options are available depending on need. Candidates are stipend eligible for sites over 50+ miles from their permanent residence. Partner with Recruitment to learn more.
