Position: Systems Engineer I

\n

Nature of Role: This position is part of a team that provides In-Service Engineering support to Submarine SONAR Systems in Newport, RI. The qualified candidate will perform multi-faceted tasking with emphasis on documentation generation, administrative reviews, and technical reviews. This work will be performed on site in Newport RI, there is minimal-to-no telework available.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and conduct regular team meetings. Record notes as needed throughout.
  • \n
  • Conduct Quality Assurance functions for logistics information provided the Government Furnished Information.
  • \n
  • Create, update, and maintain various MS Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams)
  • \n
  • Research and identify missing miscellaneous parts/pieces for government procurement
  • \n
  • Review Government-provided Statements of Work to ensure accurate descriptions for contracted work
  • \n
  • Use PleaseReview web-based application to assign/review action items across all stakeholders
  • \n
  • Maintain and conduct audits on, material and repair parts inventories.
  • \n

Requirements:

\n
    \n
  • Ability to Obtain/maintain SECRET Clearance.
  • \n
  • Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, with all levels of the contractor and government/military organization
  • \n
  • Possess ability to work in a team environment.
  • \n
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner, often without direct supervision.
  • \n
  • Exceptional organizational, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail
  • \n
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • \n
  • Ability to read and comprehend electronics schematics and diagrams, preferred but not required
  • \n
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • \n
\n

Experience:

\n
    \n
  • 4 year degree in any field or 5 years of verified engineering services work.
  • \n
  • Familiarity with government processes desired.
  • \n
\n

Work Location: Newport, RI.
